Aesthetic medicine among women has been a popular concept for many years. But unfortunately, it is not always used to solve aesthetic problems and is sometimes even abused to carry out procedures with hypercorrections of various parts of the face, which attracts attention, but not always as positive as the patient desires. The most popular and well-known procedures in aesthetic medicine may have blurred the understanding of that the basic rules for this part of medicine are maintaining or obtaining a healthy and natural skin. It is a matter of priorities, and often we see patients who add significant volume to their lips, but on the same time do not think about the treatment of acne they have as well. Everybody should always decide for oneself, and beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, but from a medical point of view, an aesthetic dermatologist will always prioritise healthy skin, and only then look at possible methods of volumetric modelling of the face and lifting.
